Why advertise here

The case for spending £25 with a job board you have never heard of

We are new, we know it, and we are not going to pretend otherwise. Here is the honest argument, the arithmetic behind it, and what happens if it does not work.

100 founding advertiser places open

What £25 actually buys

Thirty days on the board

In search, on the sector page, on the town page, on the region page, and in the sitemap search engines read. Not a week, not a credit that expires on Friday.

Every application, unlimited

No cap, no charge per application, no cost per click that empties your budget by Wednesday. Ten applicants or two hundred, the price is the price.

CVs in your inbox and your dashboard

The moment somebody applies, with the CV attached and their phone number. Nothing waits for a weekly digest, and nothing sits behind a login you cannot find.

The advert written for you

Send us the role, the pay and the hours and we will write it. That is included, whether you are spending £25 or £99 a month.

A rewrite and a re-run if it fails

No applications in thirty days? We rewrite it with you and run it again free. We can promise that because it costs us effort rather than money, and because it is usually fixable.

Your numbers, not vague reassurance

Your dashboard shows how many people opened the advert, how many applied, and the rate between them. That tells you whether the problem is reach or the offer.

The arithmetic, done in public

Against a recruitment agency

A typical agency fee is 15 to 20 per cent of the first year's salary. On a £30,000 role that is £4,500 to £6,000, and on a £45,000 role it is £6,750 to £9,000. One advert here is £25. You would have to run more than a hundred adverts a year to reach the cost of a single mid range placement.

Agencies earn that fee on genuinely hard roles, and we say so on our agency page. For the roles where you already know what good looks like, you are paying for reach, and reach is what we sell.

Against the vacancy staying open

Work out what an unfilled role costs you for a week: the overtime you pay to cover it, the shifts you turn down, the deliveries you cannot make, the manager doing two jobs. For most small employers that is a number with three digits, every week.

Against that, £25 for thirty days of advertising is not really a spending decision. The expensive option is the empty chair.

Against pay per click

Sponsored listings bill by the click, and the price moves when a competitor raises their bid. You cannot know the cost of a hire in advance, and a badly targeted advert burns the budget on people who were never going to apply. Our price is fixed before you start, which is a small thing until the month you need it.

Against posting it free on social media

For local, high volume roles, free posts genuinely work, and we will tell you so rather than take your money. They work badly for anything needing a licence, a ticket, a qualification or a notice period, because those people are not scrolling a free ads page, and the mess lands in your personal inbox.

Fewer applications, and that is the point

If you have advertised online before, you know the shape of it: forty applications for a driving job and thirty from people who have never driven a lorry. That is what a one press apply button does, because it rewards quantity. Sorting them is unpaid work, and it is yours.

This board is built the other way round. Somebody applying here attaches a CV to one advert on purpose. You get fewer applications and you read all of them. For a single vacancy in a single town, that is usually the better trade, and if it is not we will say so.

Applications you can actually read

No one press apply, no auto-forwarded profiles, no bulk applying from an app. A CV attached to your advert, by somebody who chose it.

A price you can predict

One published price for thirty days. No bidding, no cost per click, no daily budget that empties while you are asleep, and no invoice you cannot forecast.

A person who knows your advert

Email us and somebody who has read your listing replies, normally within the working day. We will rewrite it free if it is not working, and tell you honestly when the pay is the problem.

Built around the trades that hire

Driving and logistics, construction, care, engineering, warehousing, hospitality. Town pages and trade pages for each, rather than one enormous search box.

What you are really buying from a new board

Attention

You are one of a small number of customers, not one of fifty thousand. Email us and a person who knows your advert answers, usually within the hour on a working day.

Buying more than one

Five adverts cost £17.80 each rather than £25, which is £36 saved against buying them one at a time, and the credits last twelve months. Past 4 adverts a month, unlimited is cheaper again.

Sponsor a guide instead

If what you want is to be seen rather than to hire, one labelled advertisement slot sits at the bottom of a guide page. The price is published, it is worked out from that page's real traffic, and the rules about what it does not buy are written down on the sponsorship page.

A price that stays yours

Advertise at the launch rate and you keep it for 3 years from your first advert, while you keep advertising, in writing in the terms of business. Standard prices are published on the pricing page, so you can see exactly what you are locking in below.

A board that is growing

Every advert, town page and article makes the next one easier to find. Early advertisers are the reason a board gets traffic, which is precisely why early advertisers pay less.

No data risk attached

We never sell candidate data and no advertiser can search for candidates here. What you get is the applications sent to your own advert, which keeps your obligations simple. Why we work this way.

Nothing to sign

No contract, no minimum term, no auto renewal, no fee when you hire somebody, no rebate schedule. Buy one advert and never come back if it does not suit you.

Your brand on it

Add your logo for £9 an advert, or £25 a month for every advert, so candidates see your name rather than ours.

The four things people say before they buy

How many applications will I get?

It depends on the pay, the job title and the town, and anybody who gives you a number without knowing those three is guessing. Tell us the role and we will say honestly, before you spend anything, whether we think it will pull and what we would change. If it gets nothing in thirty days, we rewrite it and run it again free.

Nobody has heard of you yet.

True, and that is exactly why the price is where it is and why the rewrite is free. You are being paid, in effect, to try a new supplier: a fraction of the standard rate, locked for three years from your first advert, with a badge on your adverts saying you were one of the first, which stays yours afterwards.

I have been burned by a job board before.

Usually by a contract that renewed itself, a credit that expired, or applications that turned out to be capped. None of those exist here: no minimum term, credits valid a year, applications unlimited, and every price published on the site rather than quoted over the phone.

I do not have time to write an advert.

Then do not. Send us the job title, the pay, the hours and the location in an email and we will write the advert and send it back for approval. It takes us ten minutes and costs nothing, whether you buy or not.

Every question employers ask, answered honestly, including how many candidates we have and why the price is what it is.

Nine objections, answered at length and including the ones we cannot fully answer yet, in every reason not to advertise with a new job board. More on the about page and the employer questions.

The reason any of this is priced the way it is

We put people first.

We do not grow this business by looking at profit. We grow it by looking after the people next to us, and those people grow the business.

Which is why a candidate never pays us a penny, why nobody's CV is for sale here, why the price you are looking at is the price everybody gets, and why a failing advert is rewritten and re-run for nothing rather than left to expire quietly.

You cannot check a philosophy from the outside. You can check those four things in five minutes, before you spend anything.
