Trunking: what it is and what it pays

What it actually is

Depot to depot on a fixed run, usually at night, often a changeover half way where you swap trailers with a driver coming the other way. Same route, same time, every shift.

What you need to hold

Class 1 mostly, and the ability to sleep in the day.

What it does to the money

Good money for predictable work, and the most family friendly pattern in night driving because you know exactly when you are home.

More how the work runs

Tramping, nights out Home every night Multi drop Store and retail delivery Shunting and yard work Night work Four on four off and fixed rotas Agency and ad hoc shifts
