Class 1 or Class 2, newly qualified

You have just passed and every advert wants two years' experience. This is the hardest CV to write and almost nobody writes about it.

You cannot invent experience and you should not try. What you can do is answer the two questions behind that advert before anybody asks them: will this person be safe, and will they still be here in six months. Everything below is aimed at those two.

I passed six weeks ago. I have not driven commercially yet and I am not
going to pretend otherwise. What I bring is a clean licence, a full CPC
done properly rather than the minimum, and eleven years of turning up.

EXPERIENCE

Warehouse team leader, Peak Storage, Derby
2019 to present
  Run a shift of six people on nights, picking and loading.
  Counterbalance and reach truck, both in date.
  Loaded and strapped trailers daily, so I know how a load is supposed
  to sit before it moves.
  Two years with no shift missed and no accident.

2015 to 2019
  Picking, wrapping and goods in. Promoted to team leader.

WHAT I HAVE DONE ABOUT THE EXPERIENCE
  Paid for my own Class 2 and CPC rather than waiting for a scheme.
  Four days out with a family friend on tramping runs, unpaid, to see
  what the job is really like before I committed to it.
  Class 1 already booked and paid for.

OTHER
Full manual licence since 2013, no claims.
Right to work in the UK: settled status.
Happy to start on days, nights, weekends or a mix.
Will take an assessment drive at any time, at your yard, unpaid.

Select it, copy it, and rewrite it as yours. It is laid out plainly on purpose: a plain CV survives being opened on somebody else's computer, and a clever one does not.

What you must change

Everything factual. The shape is the useful part, not my details.
“I have not driven commercially yet and I am not going to pretend otherwise”. KEEP A LINE LIKE THAT. It is the sentence that gets read twice, and it is worth more than anything you could dress up.
The assessment drive offer. Only write it if you mean it, and then say yes when they ring.
If you have not booked your Class 1, take that line out. Do not write that you are “planning to”.
